Station 52

Station 52 was originally constructed in 1991 and opened in the spring of 1992. As the second operating station for White River Township, it significantly reduced response times along the rapidly developing State Road 135 corridor and throughout the northern portion of the fire district.

Initial plans called for the station to be located near Fairview and Peterman Roads. However, with strong community involvement and support, land was ultimately purchased farther east at its current location, 398 Meridian Parke Lane.

In the summer of 2002, the station sustained extensive damage from a late-season tornado, forcing a six-month closure. This occurred just days after the completion of a minor remodeling and re-roofing project. During repairs, the crew was temporarily relocated to a Greenwood City fire station on Fry Road, where a strong working relationship was established.

Today, Station 52 serves as a recognizable landmark for area residents and continues to serve the community with Engine 52 and Medic 52.

A white emergency vehicle with red and black markings is parked outside a fire station. The vehicle has the words 'White River' and the number 52 on its side, along with a fire department emblem. The garage behind it has two red doors and signs reading 'Engine Co. 52' and 'Medic 52'.
