Because every second matters when a loved one goes missing.

Project Lifesaver – Johnson County

Several Johnson County fire departments, including the White River Township Fire Department, have partnered to provide a county-wide program designed to quickly locate missing children and individuals with cognitive conditions.

These agencies joined the national Project Lifesaver program in 2009 to better serve families in need.

Participating Agencies

In addition to White River Township Fire Department, the following Johnson County agencies participate:

  • Bargersville Community Fire Department
    πŸ“ž (317) 422-5187

  • New Whiteland Fire Department
    πŸ“ž (317) 535-4902

  • Franklin Fire Department
    πŸ“ž (317) 736-3650

  • Trafalgar Fire Department
    πŸ“ž (317) 878-4291

Please contact the department that serves your district for enrollment information.

🚨 Emergency Notice

If a registered client is missing, call 911 immediately.

How It Works

Participants are fitted with a personalized wristband that emits a continuous tracking signal. Each transmitter has a unique frequency that allows trained search teams to locate the individual quickly.

If a family believes their loved one may be at risk of wandering, they may visit the White River Township Fire Department to apply for the program. Once approved:

  • The client is entered into the Project Lifesaver database

  • A tracking bracelet is issued

  • Training and support are provided by WRTFD firefighters

Eligibility:
Applicants must reside within the county where the application is submitted.

Program Cost

The cost of the transmitter and monthly maintenance is covered by the sponsoring agency’s operational budget.

There is no cost to the client or their family.
