Fire Marshal
Braden Prochnow
Braden Prochnow is originally from Greenwood, Indiana. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1993 and began his fire service career in 1995 with the Clark Township Volunteer Fire Department. He served on several other fire departments in central Indiana, including the Wayne Township Fire Department on Indy’s west side. Braden began working as a career firefighter with the Brownsburg Fire Territory in January 1999 and worked there as a Firefighter/EMT for 18 and a half years until June of 2017. During this time, he also worked part time for the Washington Township/Avon Fire Department as a Fire Inspector.
Braden began work with the White River Township Fire Department in June of 2017 as the Deputy Fire Marshal. He was awarded the position of WRTFD Fire Marshal in March of 2018.
Braden is an NFPA certified Fire Inspector I/II, Fire Investigator I and NFPA certified Fire Officer I. In 2014, he graduated from Columbia Southern University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science. In 2017, he became certified as a Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator thru the National Association of Fire Investigators.
As the Fire Marshal, Braden is responsible for overseeing all plan review, code enforcement, and investigation activities. He also works closely with the Operations Division to provide up-to-date information pertinent to emergency response and assists the Life Safety Officer with community safety initiatives.
