Training Chief
Corey D. McGaha
Corey D. McGaha brings more than 17 years of “on the streets” experience to his newly appointed position of Chief of Training and Safety (Fall 2018). As an engine and ladder engineer on the A-shift, Chief McGaha also served WRTFD as a Ride-Out Lieutenant. In 2013, Corey was nominated as WRTFD Firefighter of the Year. Corey brings a wealth of experience to the Chief of Training and Safety position, including more than six years as the Training Officer at the Cordry Sweetwater Volunteer Fire Department as well as serving as their Fire Chief from 2012 to 2014. Corey has also shown is leadership ability by serving as a union leader for more than ten years. Chief McGaha’s philosophy as a firefighter and Training Chief: “I believe in treating the community as your family. We can have a positive impact on every community member we encounter.”
