Carey Slauter
Staff Battalion Chief Carey Slauter began his fire service with the White River Township Fire Department as a cadet in 1984 while in high school and became a part time employee in 1987. He was hired as a career Shift Battalion Chief in 2001, appointed to Staff Battalion Chief of Operations in 2008, was reassigned to the Staff Battalion Chief of Planning in 2014. He holds the following certifications: Fire Officer IV and Indiana Licensed Paramedic. Additionally, Carey holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Columbia Southern University and has completed the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program. He is also assigned to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security District 5 Incident Management Team.
As the Staff Battalion Chief of Planning, Carey is responsible collecting and disseminating information for department management, strategic planning and ISO reporting, hiring processes, and serves as the department’s professional standards officer.
