Department responds to residence fire

       White River Township Firefighters responded to an early afternoon residence fire in the Mt. Pleasant addition. Firefighters were alerted to 5111 Mount Pleasant Center Street for a report of a fire in a residence. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and flames showing from the one story home. Initial arriving firefighters quickly knocked down the flames and confined the fire to the area of origin. The homeowner was able to escape without injury. Greenwood Fire Department also assisted on the incident.
