County-wide burn ban in effect

      Johnson County commissioners issued a county-wide burning ban Tuesday due to dry conditions.  Residents may not conduct open burning or discard matches, ashes or burning materials from vehicles.  Scheduled events, including bonfires and organized cookouts, need to be approved by the resident’s local fire department.  Commissioners will review the ban every 30 days.  For more Information go to the following web address: co.johnson.in.us/burning.pdf.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
