Family dog attacks 3-year-old

A 3-year-old child was attacked by his grandparents’ dog at their Center Grove area home.  Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 1400 block of Eagle Trace Court about 3:30 p.m. Monday, where Debbra Compton reported her grandson had been bitten by her dog, a Doberman.  She was on the phone when the dog attacked the child, who also lives in the home. She said the dog never had attacked the children before, according to the police report.  The child was bitten on the right side of his face and had cuts on his cheek and forehead, according to the report.  He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, where his condition was not available Tuesday.  Animal control officers quarantined the dog. The dog killed another family dog about a year ago, according to the report.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
