Bank on a Fireproof Cure
The
American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life event got under way yesterday
morning at the Greenwood Middle School in downtown Greenwood and continued on
through the night until around 9am this morning. Firefighters and Fire
Prevention Staff members teamed up with staffers from the Old National Bank on
State Road 135 to create one of the nearly thirty teams this year. "Bank on a
Fireproof Cure" was the name of the team and members took to the track to raise
money for the event. Team members pay a $10 registration fee and are also
expected to raise money for the cancer society from supporters of their
participation in the relay. There was also food, drinks, and games,
including a dunk tank and moon walk, for all who came by. For more
information about the event and how to participate in next year’s relay, click
