CG area man accidentally shoots self

       A Center Grove area resident accidentally shot himself in the leg while cleaning a gun in his garage.  The man was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and could be facing a life-threatening injury, White River Fire Battalion Chief Jim Engmark said.

         Emergency workers were called to the home in the 300 block of Shadow Road in White River Township at 3:30 p.m. Friday.  The man was bleeding heavily when emergency workers arrived. Based on the amount of blood he had lost, emergency workers believed he may have struck his femoral artery when he was shot, Engmark said.  But emergency workers stopped the bleeding, and the man was conscious and alert when he was taken to the hospital, Engmark said.  The man's name and condition were not available Friday afternoon.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
