Student rides along in fire truck
Seven-year-old Seth Jasek was the lucky recipient of a ride aboard a fire truck earlier today in White River Township. His parents won the ride in an auction that was sponsored by the Center Grove Education Foundation. In all, the fire department donated two fire truck rides and two Birthday parties that were auctioned off. The Birthday parties will be custom-tailored and take place at one the township's fire stations.
Seth was
picked up by the crew of Engine 53 at the close of the school day at his
elementary school while his classmates looked on. He then rode along to
the Diary Queen on State Road 135 where he was treated to his favorite ice cream
- vanilla with sprinkles. After the trip to the Dairy Queen, the Engine
Company then took Seth to his home where he was greeted by his family and
several neighbors. Fire Chief Jeremy Pell rode along as well as part of
the special event for Seth. At his home, Seth was shown all of the
equipment on the truck as well as got to spray some water from a fire hose.
Some photos from the event are shown below.
