New ambulance debuts at FDIC
One
of the two new ambulances to serve the White River Township Fire Department was
on display last week at the Fire Department Instructor's Conference (FDIC) in
Indianapolis. Both ambulances were delivered from the manufacturer
(Wheeled Coach of Winter Park, Florida) a couple of weeks ago and are being
readied for street service. As part of an agreement with Wheeled Coach,
one of the two units was entered into the exhibits portion of the week-long
event at FDIC. At the end of the conference the unit will be returned to
the fire department. Both units are currently being fitted with equipment
and other service items and will be inspected and certified by the State of
Indiana in the coming week. It is anticipated that both units will be
placed in service shortly thereafter and ready to begin transports.
