Driver loses control and slams into creek
White
River Township firefighters responded earlier today to a one-vehicle accident at
the intersection of Fairview Road and Lake Drive in northwest Johnson County.
The driver and a child passenger sustained only minor injuries when the driver
lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and landed at the bottom of a
creek bed near the intersection. The accident caused a small amount of
fuel and oil to leak into the creek. Firefighters used specialized
equipment to contain the leaking fluids until the vehicle could be removed from
the water. Firefighters remained on the scene
for about forty minutes while the accident scene was cleaned up.
