Teen killed in auto accident

A southside teen was killed after he crashed head-on into another vehicle, police said.  The driver of the other car, Greenwood resident Mark Seaman, is listed in critical condition at an Indianapolis hospital.  Alec Curtis, 18, was driving west in the 700 block of West County Line Road about 7 p.m. Tuesday when he passed a vehicle on the right, overcorrected and crossed the center line.  Curtis' Chevrolet Cavalier struck a Toyota Camry driven by Seaman, 53, who was eastbound, according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department statement.  Police don't believe either driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but the investigation is ongoing, the statement said.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Leisure Lane, which is at Carefree North subdivision.  Curtis, who graduated from Perry Meridian High School last year, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a freshman at the University of Indianapolis.  Seaman was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after possibly fracturing his arm and leg, the statement said.  He was listed in stable condition Tuesday evening, but his condition later was changed to critical, hospital spokesman Gene Ford said.  Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal
