Firefighters Complete Rope Rescue Training
Two
WRTFD Firefighters successfully completed a team skills rope rescue course in
southern Illinois. The course was delivered by Ropes that Rescue, a rigging and
consulting firm based in northern Arizona. For more information on Ropes that
Rescue, click HERE.
The firefighters completed a classroom education session and over seventy hours
of hands on training in the field. The
skills successfully completed range from moderate to complex and include
knotcraft, sound anchoring principles, patient tie in techniques and much more.
While the firefighters from WRTFD may not encounter the same terrain as they did
in Illinois, the complexity of the course has prepared them to handle any rope
rescue situation they may face in the township. For more information regarding
the WRTFD Special Operations Division, contact Captain Joe Settles by clicking
