Firefighters probe blaze in mobile home
An
abandoned mobile home caught fire Sunday morning, shooting flames 20 feet in the
air, police said. The home, 215 Shady Brook Heights, began burning about 1
a.m. Sunday, according to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report. A
sheriff’s deputy was called to the scene where neighbors told him that the home
had been vacant for about two months. No injuries were reported. The
deputy saw that the door of the home had been forced open, the report said.
White River Township firefighters came to put the fire out and also began an
investigation to see whether the fire was the result of arson, the report said.
The owner of the lot the home sits on could not be reached, the report said.
