Fire at vacant house deliberately set

A vacant Center Grove area home was damaged by a fire that investigators said was deliberately set.  The home on Olive Branch Road just east of Berry Road has been vacant for years, White River Township Battalion Chief Jim Engmark said.  No one was injured in the fire Friday.  The fire has not been ruled arson, but investigators have determined that the fire was set intentionally, he said.  Someone walked into one of the fire stations to report the blaze about 9 p.m. Friday.  Two rooms were badly damaged, and the rest of the house sustained smoke damage, Engmark said.  The homeowner had planned to eventually tear it down, Engmark said.   (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
