Firefighters on hand for Grand Opening
Members of the White
River Township Fire Department were on hand to discuss fire safety at the Grand
re-opening of the McDonald's restaurant on Marlin Drive. The restaurant
had been closed for the last few months while workers completely rebuilt it to
complete its image upgrade of the building. Because the event coincided
with Fire Prevention Week, firefighters were asked to talk about fire safety and
help celebrate the event by handing out coloring books, toy fire helmets, and
other items to children. The department's Union membership also had its
antique fire truck on display, which is a re-creation of one of the department's
first trucks.
