Haz-Mat teams respond to leak

The combined Hazardous Materials Teams of the White River Township and Greenwood Fire Departments responded to the 5900 block of West Fairview Road earlier this afternoon on a reported chlorine tank leak.  The leak in northwest Johnson County was discovered by Indiana-American Cities Water Company at their treatment plant at the site.  It took Haz-Mat team members nearly two and one-half hours to mitigate the incident.  No one was injured as a result of the leak.  The exact cause of the leak remains under investigation at press time.
