Local to offer scholarship

       The Johnson County Professional Firefighters Local 4252 is an organization that strives to achieve its very best every day.  Members carry a heavy sense of duty, honor and tradition for the profession that they hold.  They spend a lot of time teaching and educating children in fire safety along with the basics of what they do.  It is with this in mind that the members of the Local offer a $500 scholarship to honor two individuals that respect these same values and strive to start a career path in the Public Safety arena.
 

SELECTION CRITERIA 

         The following criteria have been set for the individuals who wish to apply for one of the two $500.00 scholarship awards.
 

         In order to be eligible, the applicant must:

            -         Be seeking a post-secondary education in Public Safety        

-         Have a GPA of 2.8 or better on a 4.0 scale or equivalent

-         Remain in good standing with the school’s discipline policy

-         Remain in good standing with the school’s attendance policy

-         Meet the eligibility criteria (must meet one or more of the following)

• Graduating individual from Center Grove or Greenwood school system

          or

• Graduating individual of a parent who is an active JCPFF Local 4252 member

-        Characteristics that should be demonstrated by this individual should be:

• dependable

• strong work ethic

• leadership potential

• ohonesty / integrity
