Firefighters trained by expert

The White River Township Fire Department hosted an incident command course facilitated by one of the experts in the field. Chief James Smith, retired deputy chief with the Philadelphia Fire Department spent four days with firefighters. Chief Smith provided lecture and tabletop scenarios to help department personnel manage a variety of fire events from the standard private dwelling to large commercial and religious facilities. Chief Smith is the author of the Brady published, Strategic and Tactical Considerations on the Fireground. This text is used by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security to train firefighters and fire officers around the state. Chief Smith lectures worldwide on several areas of fire service operations.
