Fire heavily damages home
The White River Township Fire Department responded to a house fire around 2:30 a.m. this morning in the 4000 block of Nevermind Way in northwestern Johnson County. Firefighters arrived to find a fire with heavy smoke inside the single-story residence. The occupants of the home had escaped without injury prior to the firedepartment's arrival. It took eighteen firefighters about two hours to fully extinguish the blaze and perform salvage and overhaul operations. The cause of the fire was unknown at press time, however investigators were on the scene and beginning their search. The home was heavily damaged from smoke, fire, and water and was uninhabitable following the incident. No injuries were reported.
