White River Twp Purchases new staff vehicles

       The WRTFD has purchased three new 2008 Ford F-150 pick up trucks to replace three Ford Explorers in the fleet. The department currently utilizes a three year rotation on its staff vehicle fleet. Two of the three Ford Explorers were sold to other fire departments in Johnson County and the third F-150 replaces a Ford Explorer that was totaled in an accident earlier this year. The vehicles are assigned to the training chief, fire marshal, and public educator. The switch to the F-150 was to obtain more storage space for training materials, inspection and preplanning equipment and to haul the department's fire and severe weather public awareness trailer.
