Firefighters Complete Hands on Training

      White River Township Firefighters completed a three day training program offered by the Fire Department Training Network. The course was held at the FDTN Academy east of Indianapolis. The five members of the department took part in hands on drills that emphasize engine company and ladder company operations. Students learn and reinforce basic firefighting skills the first two days of the class and then put the skills to work under live fire conditions on day three.

    Most of the White River Township Firefighters have been through the course over the last two years. Consistency in training is key to mitigating actual incidents in the township.
