Cadet receives top honor
As another school year draws to a close, the White River Township Fire Department recently recognized a high school student who has gone above and beyond as a member of its Cadet Program. The department's Cadet of the Year award for 2007 was granted to Chris Pelley. Pelley was given the award at a small ceremony at Station 51 on Olive Branch Road.
This award
is given to a Cadet that has shown good leadership to his/her peers,
demonstrated hard work in all aspects of the cadet program, and is a good
student in school. "This award was well deserved by Chris" said Kyle
Brooks, a Cadet Advisor for the fire department. "Chris works very hard at
everything he does, including training and learning", Kyle added. Chris's
parents were in attendance along with Chief of Department Jeremy Pell and
several other members of the department to witness the ceremony.
