Community Service Awards presented

The White River Township Fire Department presented two local retailers with a 2007 Community Service Award for their cooperation and generosity with various projects involving the fire department and the community in 2007.  The Greenwood Menards and the Greenwood Target stores were both presented with the awards earlier today in separate presentations.

Menards received their award for helping with providing smoke detectors to several Central Indiana fire departments at a reduced cost. The award thanked store managers Shane Knoblett and Drew Howell as well as the entire store for their contributions in assisting the fire department and the Greenwood community.  Seen in the photo below (left) is Menards Manager Drew Howell and Fire Marshal Eric Brown.

Target received their award for their generosity in assisting with last year's annual Toy Drive that is put together by the fire department.  Target contributed several resources which ultimately allowed the department to reach 100% of the children targeted in the campaign.  Seen in the photo below (right) is Captain Charlie Fraker presenting the award to Amber from the Greenwood Target.
