Firefighter to raise funds for MDA

Firefighter Steve Coover, with both the White River Township Fire Department and the Bloomington City Fire Department, will once again participate in the Indianapolis 500 Mini-Marathon to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  And, as in past years, Coover will be participating in the marathon while wearing full firefighting gear.  Click HERE to watch a video showing Steve's motivation and also a recap of last year's participation.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association verifies that Steve Coover of the Bloomington and White River Township Fire Departments will be soliciting donations around the community between February 4, 2008 and May 3, 2008 for the 500 Mini-Marathon MDA fundraiser.

Muscular Dystrophy Association is a voluntary health organization working to defeat neuromuscular diseases through worldwide research, comprehensive services, and far-reaching professional and public health education. Almost all funding comes from voluntary private donations raised throughout the year. The association seeks no government funding, United Way funds or fees from those it serves. MDA is consistently rated one of the most efficient of national voluntary health agencies.

If you would be interested in sponsoring Firefighter Coover or helping in another way, feel free to contact him by e-mail by clicking HERE or going straight to his MDA donation page by clicking HERE.  The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2008.
