Strategic planning session held

       Officials from the White River Township Fire Department recently took part in a two-day strategic planning retreat that was held in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The session was conducted off-site in an attempt to eliminate distractions and to provide a comfortable environment for several brainstorming sessions that took place.  Various issues facing the department were discussed including budgets, staffing, divisional goals, and the overall future of the fire department.  The emphasis this year was on streamlining operations and finding efficiencies wherever possible.  All divisions were represented and each area was examined in detail with a development plan devised.  The staff will now spend the rest of the year executing the goals set forth as well as fine-tuning the department's future fiscal and strategic plans.
