Accident closes road for several hours

       Firefighters responded to a single-vehicle accident earlier today that injured two people.  Both the driver and passenger of the vehicle were slightly injured in the incident just before 5 p.m. this evening.  The vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a utility pole nearly head-on, causing the pole to fracture in half.  The roadway was closed and traffic re-routed for several hours while utility crews worked to repair the damage.  Both victims were treated by paramedics at the scene and transported to Saint Francis Hospital South for further evaluation.
