Busiest year recorded for department

       For the second time in as many years, the department's call volume has increased over the previous year.  The White River Township Fire Department responded to 1,758 calls for help in 2007, which is a significantly large six percent (6%)  increase over 2006, and now ranks as the busiest year on record for the agency.  The year easily edged out 2006, which previously held the record of the busiest year at 1,651 calls.  The number of calls over the past ten years can be viewed by clicking the thumbnail at the bottom of the page.

        The final call tally for 2007 was 1,758 calls, of which 706 were fire-related responses and the rest, or 1,052 were medical-related.  The following is a detailed breakdown of the various call types as reported to the National Fire Incident Reporting System:
