New pumper placed in service
The White River
Township Fire Department placed its newest pumper in service on Sunday during a
short dedication ceremony at Station 53, where it will be housed and respond
from. The unit, to be called Engine 53, is a 2007 Crimson SE pumper built
on a Spartan Gladiator chassis. It has 1,500 gallon-per-minute pump with a
500 gallon poly water tank and is capable of responding with six firefighters.
The truck is outfitted with 1,000 feet of large diameter supply hose as well as
advanced life support medical equipment to be used by paramedics. The
department took delivery back on June 30th and as spent the last ten weeks
outfitting the unit with equipment, striping, communications devices, and
training engineers to operate it. The pumper replaces a 2001 model that
will now become the department's back-up unit. For more information about
