Firefighters win first-place

       White River Township Fire Department Engineer Kyle Brooks competed in the Planet Adventure race on Saturday in Indianapolis along with teammate Thad Ridge of the Perry Township Fire Department.  The duo finished in first place within their division out of a race field that consisted of fifty teams.

         The Planet Adventure Race is an eight-hour event that requires contestants to use several skills in order to be competitive.  Team members must run, trek, canoe, bike, use rope skills, climb twenty-one flights of stairs, and other miscellaneous tasks.  Awards were given to the top finishing teams including gift certificates and plaques for the first-place finishers.  For a complete list of race details, as well as the final finishing results, visit the official web site by clicking HERE.
