Golf outing another success

For the second straight year, rain has threatened to cancel the White River Township Professional Firefighters Golf Outing.  But fortunately the weather dramatically improved as the day wore on and eighteen holes of golf were able to be played out.  Fifteen teams from around Central Indiana competed in this year's event at the Hickory Stick Golf Club in northern Johnson County.  The team lead by Sean Santerre finished in first place after shooting a sixty-one.  Prizes also went to the second and third place teams along with an award for the longest drive.  The hole-in-one competition was held at the seventeenth hole where individuals had a chance to win a brand-new boat from the Marine Center in Indianapolis.  Unfortunately, no one hit the illustrious shot this year.  Play completed around 3:00 p.m. and the day concluded with a catered lunch.  Several door prizes from area vendors were also distributed.
