Firefighters complete advanced training

       The Special Operations Division of the White River Township Fire Department just completed a three-day Vehicle and Machinery Extrication Operations course designed to advance the skills of the team.  The course consisted of a half-day of classroom instruction followed by two-and-a-half days of hands-on training in the field.  Seventeen firefighters participated in various advanced procedures involving difficult extrication and mitigation scenarios.  The course took place at the Hick's Towing and Scrap Yard located on Bluff Road in Indianapolis.  A total of twenty vehicles were donated to the department by Hick's for use in the class.
