Fire causes heavy damage to home

       A fire broke out at 860 Trotter Court in the Turfway Park subdivision shortly before 11 a.m. today causing heavy damage to the single-story home.  Passersby noticing the fire on the rear porch of the home drove to the fire station on Runyon Road to notify firefighters.  Twenty-one firefighters from White River Township, Greenwood, and Bargersville spent the next three hours extinguishing the fire and making sure no hot spots were left.  Fire investigators were still at the scene working on the cause of the blaze at the time of this report.  No one was injured and it was unclear whether the occupants were home at the time of the fire.  A preliminary damage report was not yet available but it appeared to be in the tens of thousands of dollars.
