Duke donates homes for training

       Bargersville and White River Township firefighters were given three houses to conduct hands-on training sessions and other drills in this week.  The houses were part of a land sale by Duke's Welbourne Companies to Clarian Health Partners of Indianapolis.  In the deal, the houses will be torn down to eliminate the liability of vacant homes on the property.  In the meantime, the homes were given to the fire department to conduct training scenarios.  Both departments have been at the site all week performing various functions not otherwise easily available, such as ventilating roofs, breaching walls, and advanced search and rescue techniques.  The homes are located at the intersection of Whiteland Road and State Road 135.
