Two injured after vehicle flips
Two people were taken to a hospital Wednesday when their vehicle flipped near an intersection just southeast of Greenwood. The vehicle's passenger told police the driver had a glazed expression just before she drove off the road. Both the driver and the passenger were thrown from the vehicle when it left Stones Crossing Road near the stop sign at Honey Creek Road. They were not wearing seat belts, Johnson County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Doug Cox said.
Michele Owen, 22, Indianapolis, and Heath Pierle, 24, residence unknown, were taken by ambulance to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after the accident, which happened just before 2:20 p.m. Owen was in serious condition, and Pierle was less severely injured and being observed by doctors Wednesday afternoon. Pierle, who was riding in the front passenger seat, told police that Owen suddenly had a glazed-over appearance and was staring straight ahead when the vehicle entered a field on the side of the road, Cox said. Police are investigating the accident. (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
