Fire heavily damages home

White River Township firefighters responded earlier today to the scene of a house fire in the Fairview Heights subdivision in northwest Johnson County.  The fire at 45 Hill Court broke out around 12:30 p.m. and quickly grew to engulf the single-family, two-story home.  When firefighters arrived five minutes after the call, the fire had already advanced from the basement to the roof and attic.  Twenty-five firefighters and other personnel were at the scene to help fight the fire and perform other related activities.  The fire was marked under control within twenty minutes and completely extinguished in about forty minutes.  Crews remained on the scene for about three hours performing overhaul and salvage functions while investigators began the investigation into the cause, which at press time had yet to be determined.  The home was occupied at the time of the fire but everyone was able to escape before the fire department's arrival.  No one was injured in the blaze.  Greenwood and Perry Township firefighters also assisted at the scene with manpower.  No damage estimate was yet available.  (Photos below by Jack Parker from WISH-TV.)
