Now hiring part-time firefighters

       The White River Township Fire Department in northwest Johnson County will be conducting a hiring process for part-time firefighters beginning April 9, 2007.  All of the selected individuals will be assigned to a permanent 12-hour-on, 60-hour-off rotation schedule.  The department plans to hire a minimum of 3 positions over any of the three shifts (A-B-C), both day and night.  Shifts are 12 hours long and are either 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.  Those interested should consult the department's hiring page for eligibility and application instructions by clicking HERE or selecting "Public Info" and then "Current Hiring Information" in the blue menu bar above.  The accelerated hiring process, including orientation, is tentatively scheduled to be completed by June 5, 2007 with newly-hired employees beginning shortly thereafter.
