Department hires full-time firefighter
The White River Township Fire Department has hired its newest full-time employee to fill a vacancy left by a firefighter who departed for another agency. Charles Fraker will report to work on Monday to begin a career as a Firefighter/Engineer. He will initially be assigned to the C-shift and work as a float following a short orientation period.
Charlie is no stranger to the department however, as he has worked as a part-time firefighter for the past fourteen months. Charlie also comes from a family deeply entrenched in the fire service. His brother works as a full-time firefighter for Decatur Township Fire Department in Marion County and his father is the Fire Chief of the Martinsville Fire Department in Morgan County.
Also hired this week was former White River Township Firefighter and Lieutenant Stephen Rowland. Steve will fill a part-time position in the Code Enforcement Division as Fire Prevention Officer. Steve previously worked at the department for a period of seven years in the late 1990's and early 2000's.
The
department welcomes both Charlie and Steve aboard as its newest members and looks
forward to a long and successful career ahead with each.
