Now hiring part-time firefighters
The
White River Township Fire Department in northwest Johnson
County will be conducting a hiring process for part-time firefighters beginning
August 28, 2006. All of the selected individuals will be assigned to a permanent
12-hour-on, 60-hour-off rotation schedule. The department plans to hire a
minimum of 3 positions over any of the three shifts (A-B-C), both day and night.
Shifts are 12 hours long and are either 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Additionally, the department is also seeking an individual to fill an opening on
the B-shift during the day as a Fire Prevention Officer. Those

The accelerated hiring process, including orientation, is tentatively scheduled
to be completed by October 9, 2006 with newly-hired employees beginning shortly
thereafter.
