Department opens new booth at fair

       Members of the White River Township Fire Department are taking their famous Strawberry Shortcakes to the Johnson County Fair.  The shortcakes, normally only available during the department's Strawberry Festival in June, are being sold out of a tent at the fair this year in order to raise money for the People's Burn Foundation and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  The operation is a joint venture between the fire department and its local firefighter's union.  Strawberry Shortcakes with all of the trimmings are selling for $3 each.  The tent, located at the south end of the fairgrounds, will be open each day of the fair from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.  More information on the Johnson County Fair can be found by clicking HERE.
