New engine on order
The White River Township Fire Protection District Board recently approved the purchase of a new Engine to replace an existing one that is nearly eleven years-old. The new vehicle will be built by Crimson Fire Apparatus in South Dakota and take nearly a year to construct. The new $352,000 Engine will likely take the place of Engine 53 and the old Engine 53 will go to reserve status to replace the eleven year-old unit.
The new
Engine will be built on a Spartan chassis similar to another apparatus already
owned by the department. The cab and compartment configuration as well as
the unit's overall capabilities will be similar to that of the department's
other three front-line Engines. There will however be many new
enhancements over previously purchased apparatus primarily due to improvements
in technology and better standards. For more information on Crimson Fire
Equipment, visit their web site by clicking
