Golf outing another success
The White River
Township Professional Firefighters Union Local 4252 hosted its fourth annual
Golf outing at Hickory Stick Golf Club earlier today. Tee time was at
10:00 am with sixty-two golfers in attendance. The day started off with
nice warm weather and lots of sunshine. However storms did make an
appearance and created a perfect time for a lunch break. After about an
hour-and-a-half break, play resumed. The first and second place teams both
shot a fifty-nine, so the score was decided by who scored the best on the 16th
hole (because both teams scored the same on the 17th and 18th holes). The
winning team was led by Lieutenant Tony Slusher of the White River Township Fire
Department. "The course was very challenging", said Tony. "Even
though it rained, we played a great game", he added. A boat was provided
for a hole-in-one prize, although no one won the boat this year. However,
Steve Swails came incredibly close to the hole and winning the boat. Play
finished up around 5:00 pm after the rain delay.
