Pageant contestant visits fire station

Alyssa Milenbaugh, Miss Teen Indiana International, visited Station 53 recently during a campaign promotion soliciting support for her cause.  Following her presentation, the White River Township Professional Firefighters Union Local 4252 agreed to help sponsor Alyssa in her bid for the top spot, Miss Teen International.

Miss Teen International is a nationwide event designed to showcase the accomplishments of today’s teens.  The annual contest will be held this year in Chicago on July 27th and 29th at the North Shore Center.  Each contestant, age thirteen to eighteen, will be judged in four different categories including personal interview, fitness, fun fashion wear, and evening gown.  Each contestant must also have a platform to speak on throughout the year of her campaign.  Alyssa has chosen a platform of pure love and educating other teens on unwanted pregnancies through the practice of abstinence.  She has been working hard over the past year to spread her message through various functions, events, and fundraisers.  Those who attended last weekend’s Strawberry Festival had a chance to meet Alyssa and watch as she helped serve sno-cones and sign autographs.

The members of the White River Township Fire Department would like to bid Alyssa good luck in this as well as other future endeavors.  Alyssa is an excellent speaker and has a positive message to spread.  For more information on the Miss Teen International Pageant, please visit their web site by clicking HERE.
