District approves new truck
The White River
Township Fire Protection District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the
purchase of a new front-line pumper for the department on Tuesday night.
The move was part of the department's long-term strategic plan in cycling fire
apparatus. The new truck, expected to take about a year to build, will
replace a 1996 Peirce pumper that is currently serving as the department's
back-up engine. When the new unit arrives, it will likely take the place
of a 2001 pumper currently in-service at Station 53. The 2001 pumper will
then be moved to back-up status. The cost of the new pumper will be
$352,054 and will be built by Crimson Fire Apparatus of South Dakota.
