Early morning blaze destroys new home

An early morning blaze destroyed a brand new home in the Kensington Grove subdivision in White River Township earlier today.  Fifteen Firefighters and four pieces of apparatus from the White River Township Fire Department responded to assist the Bargersville Fire Department at the scene of the two-story vacant model home that was heavily engulfed in fire.  Firefighters worked both defensively and then offensively on the well-seated fire for over thirty minutes before bringing it under control.  Both departments remained on the scene for nearly three hours following the 3 a.m. fire overhauling and making sure all hot spots were fully extinguished.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation but early indications are pointing to lightning as severe storms rolled through the area just minutes before the first report of a fire came in.  No firefighters were reported injured in fire.
