Fire department hosts Awards Banquet

       The White River Township Fire Department held its 54th annual Awards Banquet this evening at the Primo South Banquet Hall in Perry Township.  This year's event consisted of a fully-catered dinner followed by an awards presentation and a year-end video screening.  The event was opened with a presenting of colors from the department's Honor Guard unit and closed with a DJ-hosted dance party.  The awards in various categories are given to firefighters for service excellence and other areas of recognition in commemoration of the year 2005.  The two highest awards, Firefighter of the Year and Officer of the Year, were awarded to Firefighter Jory Cox and Lieutenant Mark Williams respectively.  (Photos by Dana Shepherd)
