Firefighters continue with relief effort

Three White River Township firefighters remained deployed today in the Gulf region aiding with the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts there.  Firefighters Tony Slusher, Jory Cox, and Steve Coover (also a Bloomington firefighter) responded to the area as part of a FEMA-sponsored task force sent to assist in various aspects of the post-storm mitigation.  Their job tasks and base locations have changed almost on a daily basis since their original deployment back in early September, just after the storm hit the region.  The first photos from the area (mostly Waveland and Bay St. Louis, Mississippi) have been sent back and are displayed below.  View the original story by clicking HERE as well as a follow-up story HERE.  More information, including photos and daily blogs from the various members of the entire Indiana team, can be seen by clicking HERE.  As of today, the White River contingent is currently due back in Indiana this coming weekend.
