Lightning strikes again!

Another severe thunderstorm rolled through northern White River Township on Wednesday leaving a mark at a local fire station there.  White River Township Fire Department Station 53 sustained a direct lightning strike to the radio transmission tower at the rear of the property.  The tower is over 100 feet tall and has been struck a total of 3 times since it was erected in 2001.  Fortunately due to lightning isolation equipment that was installed following the second strike last summer, the damage was minimal.  The strike also damaged the station's automatic fire protection alarm system.  No other damage was reported.
